So, you think you can handle
the truth? I doubt many of you will. The only
way you will know is if you can read this to its end and see if you can indeed
handle the truth!
This website may challenge your thoughts about what you believe is truth and it is not for the faint of heart. This website does not have anything pornographic, profane or obnoxious, just the plain and simple truth. It might be to your benefit to exit this site now as so many cannot handle the truth which may lead to increased anger, frustration, high blood pressure or a host of other issues. So please proceed with the utmost caution and continue reading at your own risk. You need not worry as there is a quick way to return to a calm state of mind...just exit the website. So, if you dare and you think you can handle the truth, read on.
Origin of "You can't handle the truth". A phrase made popular by the movie A Few Good Men. The movie starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise was released in 1992. For those of you, who have not seen this movie, allow me to set the stage. Tom Cruise plays a young Naval Lawyer who is new to the inside of a court room. He defends two Marines accused of murdering another unruly Marine. As the trial progresses, the young lawyer discovers the killing of the unruly Marine was a "Code Red" ordered by a Colonel played by Jack Nicholson. Words and a heated exchanged ultimately lead to the Colonel yelling at the young lawyer, "You can't handle the truth"!
With that having been said, do you think you can handle the truth? Honestly? Are you open minded enough to consider what you are about read may possibly be the truth? If you are a close-minded skeptic, this site may not be for you. You should stop reading right now and just continue to believe the lies you have been taught. But, if you dare, read on and soon you will discover what I am saying is simply the truth.
Webster defines truth as:
1. Sincerity in action, character and utterance
2. Fact - the state of being the case
3. The property of being in accord with fact or reality
With that having been said, truth is based on facts, period. In truth there are no gray areas...it is either true or it is not. In truth moral relativism (what is moral to you) does not exist. When we don't want to hear the truth, we justify our actions by closing our minds, sticking our fingers in our ears and shouting "Nana nana nana" to prevent the truth from getting in. Seems infantile but it is what a lot of people do, not physically, but mentally. They shut out all external sources to prevent their own truths from being discredited. They just simply can't handle the truth!
If you are an atheist or an agnostic, you are not going to like or believe this...there is a God. It's the truth! You probably are no longer reading this because you can't handle the truth! Those of you who are still reading, I am glad you can handle the truth but we have only just begun. There are many more truths to follow and I know as we progress down this path, I will lose more and more of you. My hope is you will keep your mind open and finish reading and maybe, just maybe, the truth will enter in and your life will be changed forever.
So there is a God. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Well, for those who can't hand this truth, you are probably Muslim and have left this website. You could also be a Buddhist, Hindu or of some other belief system that believes in gods but not the one true God... the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Matthew 22:32). No apologies...just truth!
Scripture is the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. Believe it because it is true! It was penned by man, inspired by God and is without error. It is not a collection of stories much like a well written novel but it is the very Word of God. Scripture is an instruction manual for believers. It is the only source of truth and needs no other books to support it. The Book of Discipline,Book of Order, Catechism or other guidance manual is not needed. The Word of God stands on its own. This probably has offended some of the domination Christian religions and may some non domination religions but if you don't believe the Bible is the only source needed, you most likely can't handle the truth!
If you have made it this far, I am impressed but I have only scratched the surface of truth. There much more to come and the opportunity still exists that you may not be able to handle the truth and you will leave this website thinking this is just a bunch of hooey. I hope that in not the case and you continue on.
There is a Heaven and there is a Hell and if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you will not go to Heaven. So true so true. You can be the best behaved person (according to human standards) but if you do not accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are bound for Hell. We are judged by God's standards and if you thing the Ten Commandments will save you, truth is you are sadly mistaken. James 2:5-10 says if you break one you break them all. Who has not honored their parents as some time in their lives, misused God's name or stolen something (even a paperclip from the office or school). We have all committed murder! It's TRUE! Matthew 5:21-22 says anyone who is angry with his brother will be guilty of murder. Still don't believe it...look it up. So we are all guilty of sin and the only way to Heaven is through Christ who paid the price for our sin. The price He paid is eternal separation from God. That is the penalty for sin.
Yeah, I said only one way to Heaven? You got it! I did not make it up. Scripture tells us in John 14:6 no comes to the Father except through Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. You are not prayed into Heaven. People are not reincarnated or given a do over. You can't do enough good deeds to earn your way to Heaven. No amount of church attendance will save you. Keeping most of the commandments won't get you there (we just talked about that in the previous paragraph). It is only by belief in a Savior who mercifully gave his life so that our sins would be forgiven. Then and only then we will reside in Heaven with our Creator and Savior.
